Norths Hockey Club places a large focus on the development of its players across all ages and teams. Ranging from our most junior to our most senior. All are encouraged to have a go.

Our grass fields total an area of 8.5 acres of playing surface that includes a half size turf pitch all lit with sports pole lighting. A big shout out to "Daysee" our groundsman for doing such a great job in keeping the grounds and infrastucture at its best.

Ample goal boxes and equipment ensures everyone can score / save a goal. Yay!!

In addition to our regular training days, our coaches deliver a number of development workshops throughout each year to improve skills , knowledge, strategies, goal keeping skills and general gameplay.

Industry professionals are a regular inclusion into the years outlook. Ranging from Sports physiologists that conduct clinics on the importance of health , diet, fitness, correct warm up / cool down procedures etc.

Coaching the coaches with various high profile names within the industry, and helping both our new and experienced umpires with their rules knowledge and on field decision making.

Our junior boys have the opportunity to enrol in our Eagles Academy Junior Program (EAP) that is run by Neil Shearer in conjunction with our senior coaches here at the club each season. Tailored to suit the current playing skills and ambitions of our younger members. From One on one training to full squad drills. Fun for all.

Norths Junior Girls Development Program

Norths Junior Girls Hockey Club puts a big focus on player development. This year we are delivering a dedicated Junior Girls Development Program made up of a series of activities aimed at growing excellent hockey skills and understanding of gameplay and teamwork - the core elements of a well rounded player.

We have many knowledgeable and experienced coaches within the Club who play a key role in our Junior Development Program including Queensland Selector Judy Hartnett, and are delighted to have Queensland coach and selector Regie Fisher to our coaching line up. Good on you Regie.

We also actively engage external coaches where appropriate to deliver targeted development sessions as well as participating in development clinics run by BWHA and Hockey Queensland.

Norths Junior Boys and Girls Turf Clinics

Another great start to the Junior Development Program with the Club welcoming Neil Shearer and the Astro team to the 'Nest' @ Dorrington Park to run turf clinics.
